Sustainability

Our designs, constructions, and managements of all naked resorts follow strict principles of sustainability. We are dedicated to preserving and presenting both the nature and the heritage of the land we work on, to ensure the balance and health of all aspects affected by our decisions.

The naked Water’s reception is an exceptional work combining sustainability and interior design. It is an actual Taihu boat, recycled and renewed from its abandoned state of 50 years. Through the help of local fishermen, our designers were able to revive its entirety, and have it as a centre piece of our resort.

The woodworks used in naked Water are found from the old fishermen houses along the Taihu Lake. Our designers recycled these age-old materials and embedded them into the resort's interior. Other items such as lamps and shades are also made from materials that were leftovers of the region's constructions.

All the bamboo works in naked Water are made by Mr. Xuexing Yao, a 76 years old craftsmen, the last of the few who inherited the art of bamboo weaving- Mr. Yao's craft is done by slashing bamboo into incredibly slim pieces, and weaving them into fishing baskets. As the last guardian ofthis craft, naked wants to help preserve this amazing art, and present it through a modern lens.
